OMG, Am I a Tea Girl?
A very serious guide to types of tea, botanicals & daily rituals

In the age of matcha lattes and iced coffee, I have to admit that my thing is tea.
Tea was always such a natural part of my day that I didn't even realize how often I was drinking it. That chamomile tea before bed? Automatic. Green tea in the morning? Of course. Something in the afternoon? Usually.
And then one day I realized: tea might actually be the most frequent ritual I have in my life.
So I started going over the checklist:
- Do I have a favorite tea? Yes.
- Do I have a favorite tea cup? Unfortunately, yes.
- Do I have strong opinions about how long something should steep? Getting there.
- Do I choose my tea depending on the time of day? Absolutely.
- Have I ever bought a tea simply because the botanicals looked beautiful? Let's not discuss it.
Hmm. This was starting to look serious. Which got me thinking:
OMG. Am I a tea girl?
So, I thought I'd help you figure it out.

So, What Is It About Tea?
Maybe it's the tradition. The natural benefits of herbal tea. The way a warm cup can feel soothing when you need a quiet minute, or simply make an ordinary morning feel a little more intentional.
That's part of what makes tea so endlessly fascinating: it can be about taste, tradition, functional wellness, plants, ritual—or all of it at once.
If you're beginning to explore the world of tea, understanding the different types of tea and when to drink them is where the magic really begins.
The Beginner's Guide: Types of Tea & When to Drink Them
There are two main worlds in the tea universe: traditional teas (made from the Camellia sinensis plant, like green, black, white and oolong) and herbal teas (infusions crafted from whole botanicals, flowers, roots and dried fruits). Here is how to match different tea types to the rhythm of your day:
1. Morning Energy: Green Tea, Yerba Mate & Guaraná
- Why it works: Green tea provides a gentle caffeine lift alongside L-theanine, promoting calm focus. Pair it with yerba mate and guaraná for lasting stamina and clear-headed alertness.
- The ritual: Enjoy a freshly brewed cup alongside breakfast.
- The Kura blend: Our Morning Tea (Yerba Mate & Guaraná) brings clean morning vitality with zesty ginger, lemon and whole peppermint.
2. Afternoon Balance: Hibiscus, Berry & Green Tea
- Why it works: Hibiscus delivers a bright, fruity tang, while delicate green tea makes a light, refreshing afternoon cup.
- The ritual: Perfect hot or poured over ice around 2:00 PM to reset your palate.
- The Kura blend: Our Digestion Tea (Green Tea & Hibiscus Berry) blends berries, strawberry and green tea for a light, refreshing lift.
3. Evening Calm: Chamomile, Passionfruit & Anise
- Why it works: Chamomile has been enjoyed for centuries as a traditional bedtime botanical, a caffeine-free way to unwind at the end of the day.
- The ritual: Steep for 5 to 7 minutes about 30–45 minutes before sleep as part of your screen-free wind-down.
- The Kura blend: Our Night Tea (Passionfruit & Chamomile) pairs calming chamomile with apple, lemongrass and sweet anise.
What Are the Benefits of Herbal Tea?
Whole-botanical herbal teas keep the aromas and character of real flowers, fruits, herbs and leaves. Whether you're looking for a morning lift, an afternoon reset or a calmer evening, a simple 3-cup daily tea routine is an easy way to bring plants into your day—no added sugar required.
